As a long-time SmartThings user, I’ve always been on the lookout for devices that seamlessly integrate with my setup. Recently, I got my hands on the Ubi device, and I must say, the integration process was surprisingly smooth. 
Initial Setup
I started by following the Ubi app’s onboarding process. Pairing it with my SmartThings hub was a breeze—just a few taps and it was connected. The app detected all my existing devices without any issues, which was a huge plus. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through settings and actions.
Device Control Challenges
While most of my devices worked out of the box, I ran into a snag with my TCP-connected bulbs and the GE Link bulb. The Ubi wasn’t controlling them initially, which was a bit frustrating. But after some troubleshooting, I discovered that updating the firmware and reconfiguring the bulbs did the trick! Now, everything works like clockwork.

For example, when I say, “Good morning, Ubi,” it turns on my hallway light, adjusts the thermostat, and plays my favorite playlist—all in one go. It’s like having a personal assistant right at home!

If you’re considering adding Ubi to your SmartThings ecosystem, here are a few tips:
- Firmware Updates: Always ensure your devices are up to date before setting up new integrations.
- Reconfigure Devices: If a device isn’t responding, try removing it from the Ubi app and re-adding it.
- Experiment with Actions: Don’t hesitate to create custom actions—Ubi’s flexibility is one of its best features!
