I’ve been on a journey to integrate my home’s energy and water systems with my Homematic setup, and it’s been both exciting and challenging. Let me share some of my experiences and insights!
First, I wanted to monitor my solar energy production more effectively. I came across a solution where I could connect my Solarview system to Homematic. The goal was to optimize my self-consumption and track energy usage in real time. After some research and tinkering, I managed to set it up, and it’s been working beautifully! Now, I can monitor how much solar energy I’m generating and using directly from my Homematic interface.
Another project I undertook was building a water meter sensor. Inspired by a tutorial, I created a system using an ESP8622 and a proximity sensor. The setup involved a bit of trial and error, especially with the YAML configuration. I had to adjust the voltage from 12V to 5V to ensure stability. The final result was a reliable water monitoring system that integrates seamlessly with my energy dashboard. It’s incredibly satisfying to see the data flow in real time!
