Integrating SuretyDIY with Existing Alarm System: Tips and Tricks

I recently decided to switch from my current alarm monitoring service to SuretyDIY, and I must say, it’s been quite an adventure! My panel is a Concord 4 with Alarm.com, and I was concerned about losing all my custom settings, like the 100 sensors I’ve meticulously labeled, my three partitions, and the 10 scenes I’ve created over the years. The thought of having to reprogram everything in the Alarm.com app was daunting, but I’m happy to report that with some careful planning, it’s been manageable.

One of my biggest challenges has been finding a reliable local installer who can help me integrate Z-Wave devices into my existing system. I need to add about 20 sensors, a new thermostat, and two more partitions, not to mention troubleshooting a non-communicating thermostat. If anyone has tips on where to find qualified installers, I’d be grateful!

Another area I’ve been exploring is replacing the Concord 4 keypad. I’m looking for something that allows mixed wired and wireless sensors, supports multiple partitions, and most importantly, displays sensor labels directly on the panel—like seeing ‘Breakfast Room Door’ instead of just ‘Sensor 49’. I’ve heard the Interlogix keypad might be a good fit, but I’m not sure if it can handle multiple partitions on a single unit. Any insights would be fantastic!

On a lighter note, I’ve been impressed by how the SuretyDIY community has come together to share tips and troubleshoot issues. It’s been really encouraging to see everyone helping each other out. If you’re considering making the switch, my advice is to take it step by step, reach out to the community, and don’t hesitate to ask for help. You’re not alone in this journey!

Looking forward to hearing your experiences and tips!
