Integrating Velux and HomeMatic with Homey: A Smart Home Challenge

Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’m reaching out to the community to tackle a challenge I’ve been facing with my Velux and HomeMatic integration through Homey. While the system works seamlessly for basic operations, I’ve encountered a snag when it comes to automating the Velux roof window blinds based on weather conditions or solar energy, especially when considering the HomeMatic window sensors.

Here’s the setup: I have five Velux Integra roof windows, each equipped with KUX 110 controls and HMIP window sensors. Both the blinds and sensors are integrated into Homey via the Connexioon and HomeMatic apps. The issue arises when trying to link the window sensors with the Velux blinds. They currently operate independently, which poses a risk of the blinds getting stuck if the windows are open during operation.

My goal is to automate the blinds so they only operate when the windows are closed. I’ve explored using Velux-iO components, but it feels suboptimal since I’ve already invested in the HomeMatic sensors.

Has anyone successfully integrated Velux and HomeMatic through Homey? Any insights or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated! Let’s brainstorm together and see how we can make this smart home integration seamless and safe. :rocket:
