Hello everyone! I’m new to the world of home automation and I’m currently working on integrating my Wasserzähler Diehl Hydrus into my Home Assistant setup. I’ve managed to set up my Raspberry Pi 4 with Home Assistant and have already connected my electricity meter and some Zigbee sockets. Now, I’m looking to add my water meter to the mix.
I’ve ordered a USB stick with the CUL Nano firmware for M-BUS communication and installed the WMBUSMETERS add-on. However, I’m still waiting for the USB stick to arrive. In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out how to configure everything properly once it arrives.
One thing I’m curious about is the range of the CUL Nano stick, especially since my water meter is located in the basement of a neighboring house, about 20 meters away from my Raspberry Pi. I want to make sure that the connection will be stable enough to read the water meter data reliably.
If anyone has experience with integrating water meters using the CUL Nano stick or the WMBUSMETERS add-on, I’d love to hear your tips and tricks. Any advice on optimizing the range or ensuring a stable connection would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing from you all and hopefully getting my water meter up and running soon!
