Integrating Wyze Cam v4 with Wi-Fi 6: Success Story

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience integrating the Wyze Cam v4 with my Wi-Fi 6 network. Initially, I was a bit puzzled because the camera worked fine on my 2.4 GHz network but didn’t seem to connect to the Wi-Fi 6 network right out of the box. After some research and experimentation, I figured out a solution that might help others facing similar issues.First, I checked the camera’s specifications and noticed that while it supports Wi-Fi 6, the setup process only allows selecting between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, without explicitly indicating Wi-Fi 6 support during configuration. I realized that the camera would automatically connect to the strongest signal, but in my case, the 2.4 GHz network was more robust, which is why it kept defaulting to that.To force the camera to connect to my Wi-Fi 6 network, I temporarily disabled the 2.4 GHz band on my router. This made the camera connect to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 network. Once connected, I re-enabled the 2.4 GHz band, and the camera stayed on the Wi-Fi 6 network. I also updated the camera’s firmware to ensure compatibility. This experience taught me the importance of checking firmware updates and understanding how devices handle network selection. If you’re having trouble getting your Wyze Cam v4 on Wi-Fi 6, give this method a try! It’s all about patience and a bit of troubleshooting. Happy integrating everyone! :rocket:
