Integrating Wyze Camera and Plug for Motion-Activated Lighting

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately and wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. I recently set up a Wyze camera in my shed and wanted to integrate it with a Wyze plug to automatically turn on the lights when motion is detected. It’s been a great way to keep an eye on things without having to manually check the camera all the time!

After some research, I found that it’s actually pretty straightforward to set this up using the Wyze app. I was a bit nervous about getting it right, but the step-by-step guides online were super helpful. I ended up using the built-in automation features in the app to link the camera’s motion detection to the plug. Now, whenever the camera detects movement, the lights automatically turn on, and they stay on for a set amount of time before turning off again.

One thing I encountered was some instability with the Bluetooth connection on my Govee lights, but I managed to work around it by placing the devices in a more optimal location. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to explore more automation projects in the future!

If anyone has tips or tricks for improving the setup or has tried something similar, I’d love to hear about it. Let’s keep the ideas flowing! :rocket:
