I’ve been using Alexa to control it via the Xiaomi skill, but I wanted to take it a step further and see if I could get similar functionality through OpenHAB. The goal was to get real-time updates on the remaining cooking time right from my OpenHAB dashboard.
I started by setting up a group in OpenHAB with the Alexa skill configured as an oven. However, I noticed that Alexa wasn’t discovering the device as expected. After some research, I realized that the way the device was being registered might need a tweak. I decided to dive into the configuration files and adjust the settings to ensure better compatibility.
The process was a bit trial and error, but I finally got it working! Now, I can monitor the cooking time directly from my dashboard, which is super handy. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about having a seamless integration that fits perfectly into my smart home ecosystem.
