Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with integrating Xiaomi and Aqara devices into my smart home setup using Homey Pro. As someone who’s relatively new to the smart home world, I’ve been amazed by how seamless the integration process can be, but there have definitely been some learning curves along the way.
One of the first things I set up were my Xiaomi Honeywell Smoke Detectors. I connected them via Zigbee, and they’ve been working perfectly individually. The notifications in the app are spot on, and it’s reassuring to know that my home is constantly monitored. However, I ran into a bit of a snag when trying to link them together so that if one alarm goes off, all the others do too. I tried setting up a flow in the app, but I couldn’t figure out how to trigger the other alarms once one detects smoke. If anyone has any tips or tricks for getting this to work, I’d really appreciate it!
Another area I’ve been exploring is lighting. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect lamp that can be controlled via my smart home system, and I’ve come across some fantastic options. The integration with Aqara products has been a game-changer for me, especially their dimmable LED lamps. They offer a wide range of brightness levels and color temperatures, which is perfect for creating different ambiance settings throughout the day.
I also wanted to touch on the weather data insights provided by Homey. It’s incredibly practical to have real-time temperature, humidity, and air pressure updates right in the app. However, I’m curious about the source of this data and whether it’s possible to customize it to use more localized weather information. Additionally, I’d love to know if there’s a way to incorporate this data into my smart home automation flows for even more personalized settings.
Overall, my journey with integrating these devices has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s amazing to see how much control and convenience you can achieve with the right setup. If anyone has any questions or experiences they’d like to share about their own smart home setups, I’d love to hear from you!
Cheers,
