As a new homeowner, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting, aiming to create a seamless system that combines both manual controls and automated scenarios. Yeelight bulbs have been a fantastic addition to my setup, offering vibrant colors and smooth dimming capabilities. However, integrating them with Fibaro dimmers has been a bit of a challenge.
Initially, I installed two Fibaro dimmers, hoping to control my lighting through both physical buttons and my home automation system. While the dimmers work perfectly on their own, linking them to the Yeelight bulbs under my Homey platform hasn’t been straightforward. After disassembling one of the bulbs for testing, I found myself unable to reintegrate it into the system, despite it still being recognized in the Yeelight app. This has left me puzzled, as the bulb doesn’t show up in the local network control panel.
I’ve reached out to the community for advice, and while I wait for a solution, I’ve been experimenting with different configurations. For instance, I’ve tried adjusting the Zigbee settings on my hub to ensure better communication between devices. It’s been a learning process, but I’m optimistic that with some tweaking, I can achieve the integrated system I envisioned.
In the meantime, I’ve been exploring other ways to enhance my lighting setup. I stumbled upon the Aqara Shutter Switch H2 EU, which offers both Thread and Zigbee connectivity, and I’m intrigued by its potential for controlling not just lights but also window coverings. The ability to switch protocols based on preference is a huge plus, and the inclusion of additional buttons for triggering smart home scenes adds even more flexibility.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully integrated Fibaro dimmers with Yeelight bulbs or has tips for improving Zigbee communication. The journey to a fully automated home is definitely a challenging one, but with the support of this community, I’m confident I’ll get there!
