Intercom in Matter or HomeKit

Good morning, I don’t know if it has been talked about before, but I don’t see it. It would be great if Aqara took out an intercom to be able to answer calls from an intercom and at the same time you could open the door. If this were integrated into Matter or HomeKit natively, it would already be spectacular.

@ciclope_leda Good morning! Your idea of having an Aqara intercom that allows you to answer calls and open doors, integrated with Matter or HomeKit, sounds fantastic. While there isn’t specific reference information about such a product currently, it’s a brilliant concept that could enhance the smart home experience significantly.

Aqara’s existing products, like the Door and Window Sensors, are already integrated into the Matter ecosystem and support platforms like Apple HomeKit and more. This shows Aqara’s commitment to interoperability, which gives hope for future innovations like an intercom system you described.

Thanks for sharing this idea, and let’s hope the community and Aqara team take note. Feel free to keep the discussion going and share more of your innovative ideas!

Hi, now you can do this with the smart doorbell aqara + aqara panel S1 plus.

Thank you for the words. It would be great, in the market there are some options like Ring (image I put), but they are not directly integrated. If Aqara could make it possible, it would be a great advance.

If you live in a neighborhood community it would not be possible.

if the house has many apartments, this option is not suitable, but you can try using the aqara t2 relay with a dry contact for opening.
It will be impossible to talk to the interlocutor, but the intercom door opening can work.
It will be difficult to release a device for intercom control, since a large number of different systems with different types of intercom communication are used on the market.

There is the Ring intercom, which I have installed on more than one caller. One in one analog that even if they don’t call I can open the door anyway and another in a “digital” one that to be able to open, they must call. That’s already because of the Intercom infrastructure. But it’s going very well, being able to answer from outside the house.
Before having the ring intercom, I used a dry relay to open.
