Interference on Presence Sensor FP2

Hello to the forum! I’m a delighted user of Aqara products, and I set up two different environments with them (home and office). The issue I’m getting from the Presence Sensor FP2 is that when a person has (or nears) a cellular phone, or I think it could be the smartwatch, it does not detect it as a human/person and shows it as an interference source. This isn’t very pleasant because in this case, all the automations don´t work at all.
Thanks for your responses!

@juan_nale Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aqara Presence Sensor FP2. It’s fantastic to hear that you’re enjoying Aqara products in both your home and office settings.

Regarding the issue of cell phones or smartwatches being detected as interference sources instead of humans, this can indeed affect the functionality of your automations. The Aqara Human Presence Sensor FP2 uses millimeter-wave technology, which is sensitive to moving objects and can sometimes mistake electronic devices for interference sources if they emit signals that disrupt the detection process.

To address this, you could try the following steps:

  1. Interference Source Configuration: Consider marking specific areas where these devices are commonly used as interference sources. This might help the sensor distinguish between actual human presence and electronic interference.

  2. Adjust Sensitivity Settings: Lowering the sensitivity in areas where these devices cause issues might help. Conversely, in areas where accurate human detection is crucial, you might want to increase the sensitivity to ensure the sensor focuses more on human presence.

  3. Placement Adjustments: Ensure the sensor is installed at an optimal height and angle, ideally away from direct interference with electronic devices.

If these adjustments don’t resolve the issue, please feel free to engage with the community for more tailored advice. Your insights are valuable, and further sharing of your experiences might help others facing similar challenges. Thank you for contributing to our forum!
