You can set electricity prices by following the steps below:
Open the homepage of the Aqara Home App.
Tap the plus icon “+” in the upper right corner of the page.
Select the options in sequence: Add Dashboard → Custom Dashboard → Energy Consumption.
After adding successfully, enter the Whole-house Energy Consumption dashboard to customize your electricity price settings.

There are two ways to add your device to HomeKit:

  1. Switch protocol and re-pair Change the device’s communication protocol to Thread, then re-pair the device. A blinking blue light means the protocol switch succeeded. If the indicator flashes purple, the switch failed, please try again.

  2. Direct connection via Aqara M3 Hub If you use the Aqara M3 Hub, once the device connects to the hub, it can be synced to HomeKit directly without switching protocols.

Yes agree with all you said but when paired via the HUB M3 the plugs light is not exposed to HomeKit for adaptive lighting and colour change feature only the on / off plug features.

I have 4 x like this and 1 x paired to HomeKit direct this one has all the feature available in homkit app

As far as Zigbee goes with the plug, when setting a schedule/timer I couldn’t identify any network traffic going to the plug so I surmised they’re purely app/hub automations and don’t run directly on the plug. I’m taking another look at the plug this weekend but that what’s I found so far.

I struggled at first. I bought 3. I mistakenly went through the install via Aqara app and then add to HomeKit. I should have remembered that this does not always work. Started again. Added in HomeKit first using the given code number. Then from HomeKit paired with Aqara. This seemed to work with 2 of them. With the other I struggled. It just did not want to know. I had to research how to do a factory reset - wear your finger out pressing the button countless times. Then tried again via HomeKit. It worked. I left it powered up and active in the apps for a time and then tried to operate it. The one I had had trouble with did not respond initially. There was a long delay and then it did. Now all works well.

They seem to be. I’ve been running them via Zigbee2MQTT for the past 10 days without an issue.

The only thing is they are not technically a ‘supported’ device on there yet and don’t recognise what sort of device it is.

That said, I’ve got control of:

  • Light colour
  • Light brightness
  • Plug on/off
  • Power on behaviour

And have readings for the following:

  • Link strength
  • Power
  • Voltage
  • Current
  • Energy

However, whilst the actual controls seem to work, and the Link strength does give a reading, none of the Power, Voltage, Current, or Energy readings have shown anything in the last 10 days. It constantly reads as 0w/0v regardless of what I’m actually running through it.

This is pretty problematic for me as I run a lot of automations which work based on the current power draw of a device.

Update: Managed to get this working now simply by prompting a refresh via Zigbee2MQTT on the power monitoring entities
