I’ve been using Home Assistant for years now, but I’ve consistently dealt with crashes on my RPi 4 Model B. The system becomes unresponsive, and services like ZHA and the UI are the first to fail. The crashes are random, sometimes happening within a day or taking weeks. I suspect the external SSD attached to the RPi is the culprit, as the activity light blinks during crashes. The SSD is a SSK Portable SSD 128GB. I’ve noticed that the logs are incomplete, making it hard to diagnose the issue. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Any suggestions for diagnosing or fixing this would be appreciated. Maybe using an empty SD card slot to backup logs could help. Here’s the hardware setup: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (4GB), SSK Portable SSD 128GB. The software includes Home Assistant OS 15.2, Core 2025.5.3, Supervisor 2025.05.3, and Frontend 20250516.0. I’ve tried different power supplies for the ConBee II gateway, but that didn’t help. Any ideas on how to stabilize the system would be great!
