Is this battery drain normal for a smoke detector?

I bought a Smoke Detector at the end of last year. When I first got it, I tested the alarm function a few times, and everything worked fine. According to the site, the battery should last up to 10 years. However, after about ~5 months of use, I’ve noticed the battery level has already dropped by around 25%. Should I be concerned, or is this expected drain?
Thank you for reaching out, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced.

The 10-year battery life claim for our smoke detector is based on testing under standard conditions (25°C, 50–65% humidity) when connected to the Aqara Home platform via the Aqara Hub M2. However, if the device is linked to a third-party platform, differences in data communication protocols may cause frequent self-checks or prolonged high-connection states, leading to higher power consumption. Additionally, third-party platforms may display battery levels inaccurately due to their own calculation methods. For the most reliable reading, please refer to the Aqara Home app or the device’s actual performance.
To troubleshoot:

  1. Check the user manual to confirm normal operation (e.g., low-battery alerts).
  2. Temporarily disconnect from third-party platforms to observe if battery drain stabilizes.
