I am reaching out to report an issue I’ve been experiencing for several days regarding the connection between my Aqara Hub M3 and the Smart Door Lock U200. I am trying to add the lock via the “Add Child Device” option in the Aqara app. I have noticed that several other users have encountered the same issue on various forums, and despite following all the suggested steps that helped others resolve it, I have not been successful. That’s why I’m asking for your assistance.
Below, I am detailing the exact steps I follow – steps that appear to have worked for others with the same problem:
I remove all accessories from the Aqara app, including the Hub M3 and Smart Door Lock U200.
I check the Apple Home app to ensure no devices are connected.
I go to Settings > General > Matter Accessories and remove the Smart Door Lock U200.
I factory reset the Hub M3.
I factory reset the Smart Door Lock U200.
I re-add the Hub M3 in the Aqara app and connect it to the internet. (Note: I always see an initial error: “Unknown error - try resetting device, contact support if persists”, but it disappears by itself after two seconds, and the hub connects successfully.)
From the Hub M3, I go to Child Devices > Add Child Device, manually select Smart Door Lock > Smart Door Lock U200, skip the tutorial, and scan the QR code on the lock.
It says “Added Successfully”, but under Aqara Matter Controller it appears as “Not Configured”.
I press “Not Configured” > Add to Aqara Home, then I get a message saying “Additional setup required”, I press OK, it loads for a minute or two, and then I receive this error:
“Unable to add accessory – You may need to restart your accessory before you can add it to your home”
“AqaraHome-fd2a” Connection Failed
Please help me resolve this. I have carefully followed these steps and repeated the entire process over 100 times without success. I am attaching screenshots of every step I’ve taken.
@sergiu I understand how frustrating this situation can be, and I appreciate the detailed steps you’ve provided. Let’s try to address the issue with your Aqara Hub M3 and the Smart Door Lock U200.
Based on the reference information, here are some steps you might consider:
Firmware and App Updates: Ensure that both the firmware of your Smart Door Lock U200 and the Aqara Home app are updated to their latest versions. This can sometimes resolve underlying compatibility issues.
Thread Network: Since the U200 is a thread version door lock, make sure that your M3 hub is configured correctly to create a new thread network. After setting up the new network, try binding the lock again.
Apple Home App Configuration: Ensure that your Apple Home hub is a compatible thread border router. This is necessary for the thread version of the U200 lock to connect properly.
Further Troubleshooting: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to reset your HomePod Mini or migrate home furnishings using an app like “Controller for HomeKit” to back up and restore configurations.
If these steps still don’t solve the problem, it might be best to reach out to Aqara’s customer service for more personalized support.
