Issues with Presence Sensor not updating quickly

I’ve been having issues with the sensor not updating very quickly when someone moves out of the sensor range. Pretty fast detecting presence but not so much when the person moves out. Anyone else having the issue and any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks

@usual_key4879 It sounds like you’re experiencing some latency with the absence detection of your Presence Sensor. This can sometimes happen due to interference or the installation position of the sensor. Here are a few suggestions to improve the response time when someone moves out of the sensor range:

  1. Verify Installation Position: Make sure that your sensor is installed in a position where it can effectively detect absence. According to the FP1 FAQ, if an absence is detected within 30 seconds after leaving the detection area, it indicates the installation is proper. Delays might be due to interference, so checking and adjusting the position could help.

  2. Minimize Interference: Ensure that there are no moving objects or electronic devices nearby that could interfere with the sensor’s ability to detect changes in presence accurately.

  3. Firmware Update: Ensure your device firmware is up-to-date, as updates often include improvements and bug fixes that could enhance performance.

Higher sensitivity makes the device more responsive to subtle movements, which can maintain the “Presence Detected” state more easily.
