I just started two months ago with Aqara. First with a wall outlet H2 and the hub M2. After that I changed my switches and a hub M3. With the M3 I can acces my tv remotely. After that I integrated my Philips light bulbs into the Aqara Hub which works perfectly. I can change the color and brightness as in Apple home. I now have a cam E1 and it works great. When we where on a Holliday we had full control over the cam and the other products. I like the Aqara products for two reasons first the integration with other brands is great and second it is affordable. And this week I found out that the Aqara forum does help you in any way they can. So the only thing I can say is Iām very happy with my Aqara products.
@jos11 Thank you for your feedback and thank you for becoming a member of our forum, I hope that Aqara products will continue to please you in the future.
@Raman.V thank you. You will here more from me because I ordered the light string T1 with extension and the door sensors. I also will receive the temperature sensors today. I was born in the time that the telephone was wired and the tv screen was only black and white. I like the automations of today. But to keep up with these new features I also have questions to known how it works. So thanks for your help.
Hello, I also welcome the new creator in the Aqara smart home family.
To understand the construction and algorithm of uninterrupted high-quality automation, I want to show the principle of connecting communication in the system, many users have a problem with this at the first stages of design, which leads to misunderstanding of the problems.
Zigbee channel communication chain.
Zigbee (battery) ā Zigbee (repeater, 220 V with zero) ā M2-> WiFi ā M3 ā Zigbee (repeater, 220 V with zero) ā Zigbee (battery). Gateways may be different, these are written as an example. There may also be a direct connection Zigbee (battery) ā M2-> WiFi ā M3 ā Zigbee (battery). There can be several gateways in the system, but always remember, the connecting link between them is a router (the gateway does not ātalkā directly to the gateway.
@gafich10 Thank you for the nice welcome and explanation. I already noticed that every hub and item must be on the same communication chain in order to work perfectly. The M2 doesnāt have matter so all the products that works with matter are going directly to the M3 Hub. I have now the Aqara temperature and humidity sensors 1.2 and they also shown in the M2 hub because they are not Matter. They donāt show up in Apple home but thatās fine with me. Again thanks for the explanation.
Welcome to the Aqara Forum! We are glad that you are satisfied with Aqara products. Enjoy!
@AqaraOfficial, @gafich10, i just noticed that the Aqara temperature and humidity sensors does show up in the Apple home app. If you click on the temperature or humidity in the home screen in the app you can ser them and give them a name were they are situated.
Hello, believe me, the deeper you dive into the world of Aqara, the more pleasant surprises you will receive.![]()
Thatās a great setup youāve built in such a short time. Nice to see youāre already using the M3 for remote TV control and that Philips Hue bulbs integrate smoothly through the Aqara hub. The E1 cam is also solid for remote access, especially while traveling. Totally agree with you on the value side, Aqara gives a lot of functionality without breaking the bank.
@appleumar Thanks for the positive input. You are right with āBreaking the bankā. I like Philips Hue, also for two reasons, first the quality is top and second I live in the city where Philips was founded. The headquarters from Signify, Philips Hue, is also here in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. But the products are also very expensive so I was looking for an alternative and found Aqara. And now with the M3 hub I can integrate Philips Hue into Aqara. And Aqara has not only lightning. Like the switches, I had a couple of Philips Hue light controllers behind the normal switches and that worked good but it was on battery so after a time you had to open your switches again and put new batteries in it. Now if you have one thatās ok but with more then one it isnāt. Too much time and with the Aqara switches EU H2 no problem install and set up and finished. Iām interested in things like this. I try to go with the time. In another post I told people that I grew up wit tv black and white and a telephone on a wire. Which isnāt totally true. My first years I grew up with only a radio. The first time I worked with a computer was in 1980 and from that moment on I was hooked on things like that. So to keep my brain working Iām trying to keep up with smart tech. And Aqara with Apple home is just doing that.
