Kaza switches and AiDot bulbs

Sharing how I automatically save energy and help out my little kids that cannot reach the switches to turn the lights on.

I’ve set up a motion sensor and a prescense sensor to work these automations.

The basement sensor P1 turns the light on when there’s prescense and off after 3 minutes of absence.

The FP2 detects people in the kitchen, sink, cooking area, hallway, living room and a desk.
The Kasa switches and the AiDot bulbs were a breeze to add to Aqara by going to HomeKit and setting pairing mode 1st, then pasting the code into Aqara home.

The lights turn on at different times, but also by occupancy. Once the kitchen is empty it turns off in a minute. Works like a charm! Saving energy and helping my kids!

The automations Aqara helped me do I was unable to make with Apple HomeKit, so I fully recommend people to connect their matter devices to the app too!

@P4ck0 What a fantastic setup you’ve put together—saving energy and making life easier for your kids? That’s the best of smart home tech right there! It’s awesome to hear how the motion and presence sensors (like the basement P1 and FP2) are working seamlessly to automate lighting, with different zones and timing keeping things efficient. Kudos for figuring out the HomeKit pairing trick with Kasa switches and AiDot bulbs—sharing that tip could help so many others looking to integrate their devices.

It’s especially cool that Aqara’s automations let you do things HomeKit couldn’t—that’s a huge win for flexibility. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience (and the photos!)—it’s posts like these that make the community so helpful. If you ever tweak the setup or try new automations, we’d love to hear more!
