KNX Temperature Control and WLED Automation Tips

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with the community. First, let’s talk about KNX temperature control. I’ve recently integrated KNX into my home to manage both lighting and thermostats. While the lighting integration was straightforward, the thermostats have been a bit of a puzzle. I’ve managed to get the temperature readings working, but when I try to adjust the temperature from my Homey Pro app, it just jumps to the maximum setpoint (33°C). Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? I’ve only got two addresses in my KNX sheet: one for the temperature and one for the setpoint. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Now, switching gears to WLED automation. I’m planning to set up some stair lighting where each stair has its own LED segment. My goal is to have them light up with a slight delay when motion is detected at the top of the stairs. However, with 12 segments, my automation setup has become quite cumbersome. I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient way to handle this. Maybe some kind of loop or sequence that can simplify the process? I’d love to hear any suggestions or alternative approaches to make this automation smoother and less overwhelming.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with Govee string lights for my Christmas decorations. They’re absolutely stunning, and I’m excited to see how they’ll look on my tree. I’ve been using the Govee app to map out different effects, and it’s been a lot of fun to play around with. If anyone has any creative ideas for incorporating these lights into holiday decorations, I’d love to hear them!

Lastly, I wanted to mention my experience with the Home Assistant community. It’s been fantastic to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for smart home technology. Whether it’s troubleshooting issues or sharing tips, the support here has been invaluable. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey and learning even more from everyone!

Happy automating, and if anyone has any questions or tips, feel free to reach out!
