Kwikset Z-Wave Lock: A Smooth Integration Experience with C-7

Recently, I made the switch from VeraPlus to C-7 and integrated my Kwikset Z-Wave locks, GE Z-Wave switches, and Zigbee bulbs into the new system. The setup process was surprisingly smooth, and I must say, I’m very impressed with the range of supported devices in C-7. It’s like having a whole new ecosystem at my fingertips!

However, I encountered a minor hiccup when trying to unlock the Kwikset lock remotely. The status on the dashboard changed to ‘unlock,’ but there was no response from the lock itself. Upon returning home, I discovered that the battery was dead, which explained the issue. After replacing the batteries, everything worked perfectly again.

This experience made me wonder: does the C-7 dashboard indicate when a Kwikset lock is not connected, similar to how VeraPlus showed a ‘device not connected’ error? I’m curious to know if others have noticed this or if there’s a way to enable such notifications for better monitoring.

Overall, despite the minor setback, my experience with C-7 has been overwhelmingly positive. The integration of various devices has made my home smarter and more convenient. I’m excited to explore more features and see how else I can enhance my smart home setup!

If anyone has insights or tips on improving device connectivity monitoring, I’d love to hear them. Happy smart home tinkering everyone!
