Learning Thermostat Schedule Efficiency

Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring the capabilities of smart thermostats and stumbled upon an interesting feature—learning schedules. I’m curious if anyone has experience with a thermostat that can adapt to your heating habits and optimize energy usage based on how long it takes to reach the desired temperature.

Specifically, I’m wondering if the thermostat can learn how long it takes to heat my home from one temperature setpoint to another. For example, if I lower the temperature at night and raise it in the morning, does the thermostat adjust the heating schedule to avoid unnecessary use of auxiliary heat? This would be fantastic for maximizing energy savings!

I’m currently using a standard heat pump with resistive auxiliary heat and would love to leverage this feature to reduce my energy bills. If anyone has insights or recommendations on thermostats with this capability, I’d greatly appreciate your input!

On a related note, I’ve been tracking my heating patterns and noticed that optimizing the ramp-up time could save a significant amount of energy. I’m eager to hear how others have tackled similar challenges and if there are any best practices or tools that could help me achieve this goal.

Thanks in advance for your advice and experiences!
