Okay , had to share this one — I finally nailed the perfect movie night setup using Aqara and I’m honestly kinda proud.

So here’s the vibe: I walk in, say “Movie time” to Siri, and boom — lights dim, curtains draw, LED strip behind the TV goes soft blue, soundbar powers up, and the popcorn machine in the corner kicks on (yes, I’m THAT person).

My loadout’s pretty basic: Aqara M2 hub, a couple of smart plugs, motion sensor, and the RGB light strips. All connected through HomeKit. Did some quick automations — trigger when Apple TV turns on + time is after 7PM = whole scene sets itself. Feels so slick.

Pro tip: stick a vibration sensor to the couch and link automations to actual butt-on-seat moments. Overkill? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely.
