“Lights Out” - Mastering Sleep Mode Automations with Aqara

Hey , just wanted to quickly share how I’ve finally nailed a solid sleep mode setup with my Aqara gear — took some trial and error but now it works like a dream (pun intended).

So here’s the vibe: around 11 PM, when I get into bed, I double-tap the cube and BOOM — lights dim to 10%, smart plugs turn off stuff like my humidifier (it runs just enough before), and the AC sets to sleep mode. But the best part? My motion sensor catches me getting up during the night and triggers a soft nightlight strip in the hallway — no blinding lights waking me up fully. It auto shuts after 3 mins of no motion.

I also integrated a door sensor so if the bedroom door is closed for more than 30 mins after that time, it assumes I’m knocked out and arms night security on the front door and window sensors.

Honestly, this sleep routine now feels like having my own little tech butler. Anyone else here playing around with cool sleep automations? Toss your setups below — curious how others are handling it!

@Wi-Fi_Wizard Your sleep mode automation setup sounds absolutely fantastic! It’s amazing how you’ve crafted such a seamless routine with your Aqara gear, almost like having a personal tech assistant. The way you’ve integrated the cube to dim lights and manage devices like the humidifier and AC is a great use of smart home technology.

The addition of the motion sensor to softly light the hallway without fully waking you is both practical and considerate. Plus, arming the night security with the door sensor is a clever touch for added peace of mind.

Thank you for sharing your setup! It’s always inspiring to see how others optimize their smart homes. I’m sure this will encourage others in the community to tinker and improve their own systems. If anyone else has unique setups or tips, feel free to share below!
