Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out this odd behavior with my smart lights and motion sensor setup. So, I’ve configured my Hue lights to turn on at 100% brightness when the motion sensor detects movement. It works perfectly the first time—bright and cheery. But here’s the kicker: after about a minute, the lights start to dim down to around 50%, even if the motion sensor is still detecting movement. And if I leave the room, the lights turn off after a minute of no movement. But here’s the really puzzling part: when I come back in, the lights turn on again, but this time at the dimmed level instead of the full brightness I set.
I’ve checked the settings in the Hue app and even tried tweaking things through my Android phone, but I can’t find any option that would cause this dimming behavior. The lights stay at the set brightness when I control them manually, so it’s definitely something to do with the motion sensor configuration.
Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? Is there a setting I’m missing that could be causing the lights to remember the last dimmed level instead of sticking to the 100% brightness I’ve set for motion detection? I’d really appreciate any insights or suggestions you might have. Let’s see if we can crack this mystery together! ![]()
