it’s overpriced, not worth
I think Aqara will release some new smart plugs with more features - which are shown on the IFA 25
This for the US Market @DEChrisE
Another option that really does look better and is neat is Shelly. You can wire a basic “Shelly 1” behind the existing plug. These are first-tier devices with tons of features and when you are done, it looks like before you started. I use one in the laundry just to measure power used. Some day I will write an automation to look for when the power usage drops from high to low to notify that the clothes are clean. I have some Third Reality that work too.
What about the Aquara smart plugs? Are they reliable?
Osram Smart+do have good plugs, both inboor and outdoor - Zigbee, MAtter, Wifi
I bought a Matter Power strip on AliExpress, it was a risk because it’s not branded but was the cheapest one I found with also USB 4 USB ports. The only complain is that the USB charger ports are controlled togheter and not a 4 different ports. But the device works flawlessly integrated in Aqara Home and has solid materials.
I know you asked for a plug, but maybe this will be useful for somebody.
I use the Kasa Matter ones - in aqara. You do not get all the features, but onoff and automations are solid
aqara / hue / kasa are some of the best
I’ve used TPLink/Kasa for a long time, and the outdoor double plug has been rock-solid. Lately, however, I’ve been getting the Eve plugs as they extend the Matter/Thread network. Watch out, however, for plugs that are Matter but are only end devices and not repeaters.
I’ve been using my Aqara smart plug for over 5 years. Works great.
I’ve been very happy with my IKEA smart plugs. The newest ones are Matter compliant. GRILLPLATS
Plug, smart
$7.99
I was not able to get the IKEA smart plug to work with my G5 Pro. It could not connect to the network.
Ikea matter devices are not the stabile ones! But they should get a new firmware- maybe they get more reliable then ![]()
