has anyone had any luck paring an Aqara hub to their Home Assistant network? HA keeps asking me to install more third party hardware despite the AH being physically connected to it. Is there a protocol or feature i need to enable on my end?
No help at all but will wait for an answer as well ![]()
Do you have HomeKit? A workaround to get items into HK & HA is the HK->HA integration - HomeKit Device - Home Assistant
I got it to work for Zigbee so YMMV for Matter / Thread
I don’t have an Aqara hub myself, but I’d expect it needs to be connected to the same network as your Home Assistant—via your router, switch, or Wi-Fi. If it’s physically plugged directly into your HA device, that likely won’t work. Both need to get an IP from your router’s DHCP server to communicate properly.
kindly ask can you show image about “asking me to install more third party hardware”
maybe I can help you to ask R&D for suggest
i will have to try this i did not think of integrating with it via HK. i’ll be curious to see if it exposes the rest of my thread and matter network to HA.
HA wants me to pair a dedicated matter or thread hub. I want to use the Aqara hub as said hub
It going to happen just yet as home assistant does not have a direct matter connection, matter is secure so u less someone hacks the aqara hub to work via a network cable direct to ha network port it won’t work,
Even if someone could do it you would loose all functionality of the aqara hub
It worked for me. Using the matter server in home assistant, I have linked my aqara hub in home assistant. It works without any issues for me.
