Alright, I could really use some help here. My Aqara setup has been working flawlessly with HomeKit for months, and then boom—this week, outta nowhere, half my devices are “not responding” in the Home app.
I’ve tried the usual—restarting the hub (Aqara M2), rebooting my iPhone, even did the whole Wi-Fi/router reset routine. Nothing. Some sensors come back briefly, others stay offline, and it’s driving me crazy. Internet connection is all good, and the devices themselves still flash like they’re alive.
Not sure if this started after a recent iOS update or something Aqara pushed silently? Anyone else hitting the same wall lately?
Should I remove and re-add everything (dreaded…), or is there a less soul-crushing fix I’m missing?
Would really appreciate any hacks or tips to get back to normal—my automations are basically toast right now.
@HomeAutomatorPro It sounds like you’ve been through quite the troubleshooting marathon already, and it’s frustrating when things suddenly stop working without a clear reason. Let’s try to tackle this together with some additional steps that might help resolve the issue:
-
Check Hub and Accessory Status: Since you’ve already restarted your Aqara Hub M2, it’s also worth verifying if the communication between the hub and your accessories is stable. You can do this by following the “Effective Range Test” in the accessory manual. If the connection is not stable, try moving the accessory closer to the hub.
-
Firmware and Software Updates: Ensure that both your Aqara devices and the Apple HomeKit hub are running the latest firmware and software versions. Sometimes updates can resolve connectivity issues.
-
Network Stability: Double-check that your Aqara devices, hub, and HomeKit hub (like your iPhone) are all on the same, stable Wi-Fi network. Weak signals can cause devices to become unresponsive.
-
Re-sync Devices: If specific devices are still unresponsive, consider re-syncing them by re-pairing with HomeKit through the Aqara Home app. Follow the device manual or in-app instructions to remove and re-add the device, if necessary.
-
Apple Home Hub Check: Verify that your Apple Home hub (e.g., HomePod, iPad, or Apple TV) is functioning properly, as it is crucial for HomeKit’s local processing and remote control.
If these additional steps do not resolve the issue, consider contacting Aqara support for further assistance. They might be able to provide insights into any ongoing issues related to recent updates.
