Hey everyone!
I’m running into a frustrating issue with my Aqara M100 and hoping someone here has encountered this before or has ideas for a fix.
The Problem
I keep getting this error message in the Aqara app:
“Detected that your phone is not on the same local network as the current device. To connect to this device, please switch your phone’s Wi-Fi to the same network (Wi-Fi name: [MyNetwork])”
What I’ve Already Tried
Here’s the thing - both my phone and the M100 are definitely connected to the same WiFi network. I’ve triple-checked this, and I’ve also attempted these troubleshooting steps:
Network reset on the M100 - Completely reset the network connection
WiFi toggle - Turned off WiFi on my phone, waited, turned it back on
Full restart - Restarted both my phone and router
Network verification - Confirmed multiple times that both devices show the same network name
Despite all of this, the error persists and I can’t properly connect to manage the device.
My Setup
- Device: Aqara M100
- Phone: [Android/iPhone - specify yours]
- Network: Standard home WiFi setup
- App: Latest version of Aqara Home app
Questions for the Community
- Has anyone else experienced this “same network” detection issue with the M100 or other Aqara devices?
- Are there any advanced network settings (like AP isolation, guest network configurations, or router-specific settings) that might cause this false detection?
- Has anyone found a reliable workaround beyond the basic troubleshooting steps?
I’m particularly curious if this might be related to certain router brands or network configurations that interfere with Aqara’s local network detection.
Any insights, suggestions, or shared experiences would be hugely appreciated! This is really hampering my ability to use the device effectively.
Thanks in advance for any help! ![]()
