M1S Gen 2, ZHWG20LM, HomeKit pairing issue

I’ve recently purchased a few M1S Gen 2 gateways / hubs. I was able to pair the devices with Apple Home using the Home app. Later I found that features such as custom ringtones are only available in Aqara Home app. So I followed the procedures below to re-pair the devices but then lost access to HomeKit.

  1. Factory reset (10 clicks)
  2. Switch to Aqara Home mode (2 clicks)
  3. Apple Home pairing, successful
  4. Aqara Home App → Profile → Connect to Ecosystem → Apple Home → Bind
  5. Prompt binding failure, ask me to confirm. Confirmed, then the same failure message repeat.
  6. Lost connection in Apple Home app after rebooting the devices.

Try to pair the device again, received the following error after Apple Home app says “set up”

Tried the above steps on another M1S Gen 2, got into the same situation.

I suspect that there is a bug somewhere that causes the devices to lose it pair tokens. Can I get some help?

Hello @normad79119
What version of iOS and the Aqara Home app are you using? Update to the latest version of iOS and install the latest version of the app. Try adding the router again. Restart your router and phone before adding it.

iOS and Aqara Home app are up to date. Unplugged everything - access point, phone, Apple TV, and hub, and waited for at least 30 minute. No luck.

Did you try to do this on 2.4g WiFi or 5G?because it needs 2.4G WiFi band to connect this devices and also add them to HomeKit also you could just set the WiFi to 2.4 band and just open Apple home and add it from there by scanning the code and not directly from aqara app
