M1S Hub connection

I am trying to add the hub to the Aqara app and it doesn’t seem that the app is going to do that, it’s added to Apple Home but not to the Aqara app. @AqaraBot

@2g6m7kyv74 It sounds like you’re having trouble adding your M1S Hub to the Aqara app. Fortunately, there are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Check Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as the hub does not support 5GHz.

  2. Reset the Hub: Long press the reset button on the hub for about 10 seconds until the yellow light flashes. This will reset the hub, allowing you to try adding it again.

  3. Update the App and Hub: Ensure that both the Aqara Home app and the hub firmware are updated to the latest versions. This can often resolve connectivity issues.

  4. Reinstall the App: If the above steps don’t work, try deleting the Aqara Home app, clearing any data, and then reinstalling it.

  5. Use a Personal Hotspot: Another option is to use one phone to set up a Personal Hotspot and connect a second phone to this hotspot for setting up the hub.

If you’ve tried all these steps and still face issues, please consider reaching out to Aqara support for further assistance. They can offer more detailed help specific to your situation. Good luck, and feel free to keep the community updated on your progress!

It looks like your M1S is currently running the Mi Home firmware, which is why you’re unable to add it to the Aqara Home app. You’ll need to switch the firmware to Aqara Home first. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you do that:

:repeat: Switch Platform Mode (Mi Home ↔ Aqara Home)

1. Restore Factory Settings

  • Quickly press the power button 10 times in a row.
  • The yellow LED will start flashing, and you’ll hear a voice prompt confirming the reset.
  • Note: This step is required before switching platforms.

2. Enter Platform Switching Mode

  • Within 10 seconds after the factory reset, quickly press the button 2 times.
  • If successful, you’ll hear a “ding” sound and the white LED will flash briefly, indicating the platform mode has changed.

3. Wait for the Voice Prompt

After a few seconds, the hub will announce one of the following prompts:

  • “Waiting for connection. Please open the Mi Home app.” → Mi Home Mode
  • “Waiting for connection. Please open the Aqara Home app.” → Aqara Home Mode

If you don’t hear the voice prompt, repeat the 2 quick presses until the mode switches.
