I have a Major issue with the Radiator Automation in the app.
When setting all radiators to ‘Freeze’ or turning them all off, they dont all do what there instructed to do.
For example, i’ll have them all set off, it shows as off in app but when you go to the radiator it’s full blast.
Does anyone else have this issue?
I moved away from Hive becasue of the good reviews but there are just so many issues with the automation that i’m seriously cosideing going back to Hive
Hello, welcome to the forum. Check the condition of the batteries. I had this happen when the voltage was low.
Another question, do you have centralized or individual heating?
The battaries are full, it’s a central heating system. The automations are very important at i use Alexas routines to set the house.
For example if i say to alexa “I’m working from home” all rediators go off except for then the office radiator turns on to 23c. but i’ll go downstairs and the living room will be on. at say 25c but if i go into the app it’s showing as off
If you have the thermostats E1, check the screws that hold the motor in place. These are located under the display. A known problem is that the screws break off and the motor can no longer regulate because it is loose. There are some posts about this on the forum.
Before doing all the suggestions here I would check to make sure that the actuator is actually closing and opening the pin on the radiator valve, this is important as the radiator value can not regulate itself if it can open and close the valve fully.
Please start with this and confirm that indeed E1 TRV is able to operate the pin to its full extent.
Thanks for coming back to me guys, couple of things. The only Aqara devices i have are the Hub and radiator valves. the valves are on correctly. the issue is not so much with the vales it’s with the automation part.
If i was to run the automation 3 times, there is no garantee that each time it will work.
for exmaple, when i go to the automation to switch them all off, they all show as off (they are blacked out on the app) but the temp show it’s still set to something like 25c.
all devices are central in my house so get a very good wifi connection. again the devices them selves work fine, i just cant trust that automations will complete.
Hello.
Do you use Aqara home? Show me the automation screen.
If you use “> installed” and “< installed”, then these are cloud-based, they may depend on the server.
There is a clear problem with the app. This morning at 08.00 I ran an automation called Heat downstairs. It should set all downstairs radiators to 25c and switch the master bedroom and office switched off. from the app, everything looks to be spot on.
I have just gone into the office and it is roasting. The app shows the radiator greyed out as if it is off, but the valve itself is set to 28c. The app now shows 28c as well even though it still claims the radiator is off.
I cannot rely on the app or any automation I set. Even trying to force everything to 6c first, wait a minute and then run the next set of actions does not work.
I will now need to see if I can move all my automations into Alexa, which is a pain because there is no simple way to manage them there.
E1 malfunction due to wear of the plastic of the case (the screws do not hold) the case breaks off and E1 is in the closed mode but does not actually clamp (release) according to the state set in the automation.
I am writing this because I personally had a problem with these positions.
By the way, I had a case where the batteries were bad and the app didn’t report it
