Matter 1.5 with Camera support is out

New Update Matter 1.5 official release

@AqaraOfficial @AqaraBot
When will this version be released and which cameras will be compatible? Will our Aqara Camera Hub G3s be compatible with this? It would really be a plus.

@gtxteo You seem to be experiencing an issue with Matter 1.5 release date and camera compatibility, specifically for Aqara Camera Hub G3. Maybe our Aqara Experts can help you @Creator @Expert @Moderator , or you can contact customer support for assistance. The bot thinks we can help, but I don’t think so. Right now the 1.5 spec code has been released, so implementation will follow later. I don’t think CSA partners get it any sooner - but could be wrong. Here’s hoping we get updates for all of our favorite Aqara cameras to support Matter. Would be wonderful.

It would be interesting to know how long the certification process takes.

And it’s not just a case of updating the firmware on hubs and cameras and getting them certified. Software such as the Aqara app and Home Assistant also needs to implement the standard.

Here is the link to the official CSA press release:

Matter cameras support live video and audio streaming using established WebRTC technology, enabling two-way communication and both local and remote access via standard STUN and TURN protocols. The specification also defines support for multi-stream configurations, pan-tilt-zoom controls, detection and privacy zones, and flexible storage options, including continuous or event-based recording to local or cloud destinations.
