Matter Support for FP2

I know that the FP400 was just announced but at the FP2 announcement it was said that matter support was coming to it (FP2) at some point but it never did… any update on that? Thanks!!!

I’m still waiting on that too. It would make things so much easier.

Matter is already possible, at least with Advanced Matter Bridging.

Thanks @JohnD for this, very helpful! I can follow until the step of the executioner device, I do not have other aqara product except the FP2 and was trying to connect it to a Hubitat Hub. (not Home Assistant). I do it now via creating virtual buttons on syncing them with rules on Apple Home, it works but is very multi step process, wanted to simplify directly the FP2 to the Hubitat hub just using Matter…

I understand. It also works without an Aqara Hub by integrating the FP2 into Home Assistant via HomeKit and then passing virtual switches via Matter to e.g. Apple Home. I suspect that is how you did it with the Hubitat Hub.

That the FP2 will become a direct Matter-over-Wi-Fi device will probably not happen in the near future, as the developers likely have their hands full improving the currently newly released devices.

Thanks I understand that! It is just dissapointing as they promised that when they launched FP2 and that is the main reason why I bought it. Thanks @JohnD

You can connect Aqara FP2 to a Hubitat C-8 Pro hub using HomeKit Controller protocol, or via Aqara Matter Signals if you have an Aqara hub.
