I like to think of it as ‘better than original’, or ‘hyperauthentic’: nearly invisible and low-cost—but HUGE—function upgrades such as with Govee smart-products. From a couple years ago: check out our restored basement bar, original to the house, now equipped with Govee RGBIC strips incorporated into its structure. Rather than demolish and replace, we carefully deconstructed then rebuilt the bar to plumb in a new deep bar sink and ice bin, and created internal wiring/ventilation passages for Summit refrigeration and, of course, Govee lighting! Our goal was/is to save as much of any original thing by keeping it current in function, and to do that by maxing out it’s utility as invisibly as possible. Example: we added occupancy-sensors to trigger outlets powering the built-in LED strips lighting the well, back-bar area, and original orange-vinyl tufted bar front. Had we only known Govee would create $15 smart motion sensors three years later to do the same thing! Used by permission of the owner, seen in the videos walking on the bar. BONUS: For Mid-Century-Modern (‘MCM’) buffs…there’s an associated quiz/poll: From the look of things, what is the year this bar was built? (No cheating by digging through old posts where I may have dropped the answer before. LOL
). I will post the answer once the poll closes. So Smartypants, whaddya think? Vote!
