May I use SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1 with W500 thermostat and home asistant? What is the output power of M3 hub. Does M3 hub support 3rd party Zigbee devices other than Aqana.
Thks
Hi, M3 doesn’t support third-party Zigbee devices, but supports third-party Matter over Wi-Fi, and Matter over Thread devices.
As for this coordinator, we’re not sure what’s the progress of integrating the W500 over z2m or ZHA, but we are sure that if this stick can work as a Thread stick in HA, the W500 can be integrated using the default Thread mode. Alternatively, if you have an Amazon Echo, Aqara hub like M100 or M3, or even HomePod mini, you don’t need this stick to connect Thread devices to HA.
@gokalpakgul If the SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1 is a Matter device, it can normally join Home Assistant as a Matter device, as can the Aqara W500.
The Hub M3 requires a power adapter rated at no less than 10 W (DC 5 V / 2 A).
The Hub M3 does not support connecting third-party Zigbee devices.
@gokalpakgul Sorry, the current reference information doesn’t cover details about whether the SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1 can be used with the W500 thermostat and Home Assistant, the output power of the Hub M3, or if the Hub M3 supports third-party Zigbee devices other than Aqara.

However, there’s no specific information on compatibility with the SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1 or integration with Home Assistant in the reference materials.
Regarding the output power of the M3 hub: The reference information does not mention the output power of the Hub M3.
For M3 hub supporting third-party Zigbee devices: The Aqara Home app does not support Zigbee devices from other brands . While the M3 hub supports connecting to third-party Matter ecosystems via the Matter app , there’s no information confirming it supports third-party Zigbee devices.
