After spending considerable time exploring the transition from OH1 to OH2, I wanted to share my experiences and insights. Moving from OH1 to OH2 has been both exciting and a bit overwhelming, especially with the new interface and configurations. Kudos to the developers for the scripted installation! It really streamlined the setup process. However, I’ve encountered some challenges along the way, particularly with finding the right tools and configurations to manage all functionalities seamlessly.
One of the biggest questions I have is about the best way to transfer my existing OH1 configurations to OH2. I’ve heard mixed feedback about whether there’s a single tool or method that can handle all the configurations, or if multiple tools are necessary. Given that I rely heavily on MQTT and Ethernet-based sensors, I’m curious if there’s a unified approach to manage everything without encountering the pitfalls mentioned in other posts.
I’ve also noticed that some features require manual configuration through files rather than the UI, which can be a bit daunting for someone not deeply familiar with the inner workings of OH2. I’m wondering if there’s a more streamlined way to handle these configurations or if it’s just a matter of getting used to the new system.
