I’ve been on a journey to migrate my smart home setup from Wink to Hubitat, and I must say, it’s been an enlightening experience!
Starting with my Lutron Caseta dimmers, Pico remotes, and connected bulbs, I’ve been gradually transitioning to the Lutron Smart Bridge. The process has been a mix of excitement and challenges, but the results are well worth it.
One of the first things I noticed was the seamless integration of my GoControl garage opener and Schlage Connect lock. The SmartThings motion sensors, plugs, and window sensors, which were solely connected via Wink, have now found a new home in Hubitat. It’s incredible how everything comes together under one roof!
I’d love to hear from others who have made the switch—what were your experiences? Did you encounter any hurdles that you overcame? For those considering the move, here are a few tips I’ve picked up along the way:
- Plan Ahead: Take inventory of all your devices and their current configurations. This helps in identifying potential compatibility issues early on.
- Gradual Migration: Don’t try to switch everything at once. Migrate one category at a time to ensure a smooth transition.
- Community Support: Don’t hesitate to reach out to forums and communities. The collective wisdom is invaluable!
I’m eager to hear your stories and tips as well! Let’s continue to explore and enhance our smart home setups together. ![]()
