Migrating Wyze Devices to a New Network: A Smooth Transition

I recently decided to upgrade my home network to a TP-Link OneMesh setup, and I wanted to share my experience with migrating all my Wyze devices to the new network. While the process seemed straightforward at first, I encountered a few hiccups along the way that might be helpful for others to know about.

Initially, I set up one of my WCO bases to use Wi-Fi and disconnected the Ethernet cable. Everything worked perfectly, so I felt confident moving forward. However, when I tried to switch over the base to the new TP-Link network, I ran into an issue where the base kept reconnecting to the old network. I deleted the base, connected it to the new router, and entered the new network credentials, but it still reverted to the old network. After some research, I discovered that the old network credentials were cached in the base. To resolve this, I had to perform a factory reset on the base, which allowed it to connect seamlessly to the new network.

This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly clearing cached network settings, especially when migrating devices between networks. It also highlighted the resilience of Wyze devices, as they handled the transition without any issues once the settings were correctly configured.

If anyone else is going through a similar migration, I recommend double-checking for cached network settings and considering a factory reset if problems persist. Happy networking everyone! :globe_with_meridians::sparkles:
