Mixing Smart Lights: A Smooth Experience?

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I’m curious to hear others’ experiences with mixing different brands on a single system. Here’s my setup: I’m replacing all my downlights with smart lights, but due to size differences, I’ll be using LIFX for about half of them. For the larger ones, I’ve opted for Philips Hue downlights, and for the less frequently used areas like bathrooms, I’m considering the Sengled smart LED kits.

I’ll be using Homey as my central hub, but I’m wondering if I still need the Philips Hue Bridge for the Hue lights to function seamlessly alongside the LIFX and Sengled bulbs. Have any of you successfully mixed these brands without running into compatibility issues?

Another thing I’m pondering is the installation process. In Australia, switch options are limited, and installing neutral wires can be pricey. I’ve heard that some people avoid rewiring by using smart plugs, but I’m not sure if that’s reliable for lighting. Any tips or experiences on this front would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’d love to hear about your go-to hubs and whether you’ve faced any unexpected challenges when mixing brands. Is there a combination that works exceptionally well, or should I stick to a single ecosystem for better reliability?

Looking forward to your insights and experiences! :rocket:
