Monitoring Outdoor Pumps with Smart Home Tech

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with monitoring an outdoor septic pump using smart home technology. I recently purchased a GE/Jasco smart outdoor outlet, hoping it might include a current monitor, but unfortunately, it doesn’t. However, I’ve found a workaround that’s been working well for me.

I’ve been using a combination of a smart plug and a motion sensor to monitor the pump’s activity. The smart plug allows me to remotely control the outlet, while the motion sensor detects when the pump is running. This setup has been incredibly helpful in preventing costly repairs caused by overuse or malfunctions.

I’d love to hear from others who might have similar setups or additional tips for monitoring outdoor equipment. Have any of you successfully integrated smart tech into your outdoor systems? I’d be especially interested in hearing about any advanced monitoring solutions or integrations with smart home hubs.

This community is amazing, and I’m always inspired by the creative solutions people come up with. Let’s keep sharing and learning together! :star2:
