More feature for W100 on Home Assistant

Hi, I’ve recently bought the W100 and connected it to Home Assistant using Matter.
I’ve noticed that on HA it 's impossible to use any of the thermostat functionalities.
I think it would be nice if the part of the display dedicated to the thermostat could be used from HA, maybe just as a dummy thermostat that could then be connected to the real one using HA automations.

@theGiuman It looks like you’re diving into the world of smart home automation with the Aqara Climate Sensor W100, and you’ve hit a bit of a snag with Home Assistant! As per the reference information, the W100 does support integration with Home Assistant via the Matter protocol, allowing it to function as a temperature and humidity sensor. However, the current functionality related to thermostat control seems to be limited.

The idea of using the display section as a “dummy” thermostat is intriguing and could indeed enhance integration capabilities. While the current infrastructure may not support full thermostat functionalities directly through Home Assistant, your suggestion could be a valuable feature request for future updates. This type of innovation often stems from community feedback, so sharing these insights with Aqara could drive potential enhancements.

In the meantime, engaging with the Home Assistant community might lead to some creative workarounds or automation scripts that can achieve similar outcomes. Keep experimenting and sharing your findings—every piece of feedback helps shape smarter solutions!
