Motion and Illumination Sensor P2 lux range

In the video presentation of th P2 sensor there is an example of using the sensor to automatically draw the curtains at 500lux.

In the automation I set up with this sensor I can chose from a range up to 100.000lux

I need to close the curtain when the sun shines thru the window, but this never happens because the sensor does not report lux above 1500lux.

Is the sensor broken?

With the P2 sensor via Matter, I cannot select values above 1000 lux. And the description in some shops states that the sensor only measures up to 1500 lux.

With the Aqara FP2 presence sensor or the Aqara T1 light sensor, you can select higher values.

To bad Aqara does not declare this limitation in the manual or in the product description. I feel a bit tricked by Aqara in this case.

In the automation I can select 100000lux with the P2.

The FP2 is an advanced motion sensor with light sensor. Unable to find any specs on lux range.

The Light Sensor T1 I cannot find locally or on Aqara web. Maybe discontinued?

I’ m probably stuck since Aqara does not have an alternativ and others don’t have one with Matter.

That must be a error. Which version of the Aqara Home app are you using, and what type of smartphone do you have? iPhone? Android?

I can’t find it right now, but I can confirm that it exceeds 15,000 lux, as I have a light therapy lamp that reaches these values. When I hold the lamp in front of the P2 sensor, it stops at 1,500 lux, and the FP2 displays 15,000 lux. But I suspect it can go even higher.

I believe the sensor is not actually intended for the EU, but there are some people here in the forum who use it anyway.

@DEChrisE @gafich10 @david You use these or similar sensors, right?

Hi, yes, I am using a T1 sensor.
Unfortunately, the graphical plugin is not supported, but the event log is.
