Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to the community for some troubleshooting advice. I’ve been experiencing an issue with one of my motion sensors, and it’s been quite perplexing. The sensor in question is responsible for turning on a light when motion is detected and turning it off once the area is clear. However, for the past few nights, the sensor has been detecting motion but failing to clear, leaving the light on unnecessarily.
The pattern is consistent—around the same time each night, the sensor activates but doesn’t reset. I’ve noticed that manually turning off the light provides a temporary fix, as the sensor eventually clears on its own. Tonight was particularly frustrating, as the sensor detected motion at 8:03 PM and remained active until 10:44 PM, despite no movement in the area since 8:30 PM.
I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including checking the sensor’s placement for any obstructions or interference. I’ve also reviewed the logs, which unfortunately don’t provide much clarity. I’m curious if anyone else has encountered a similar issue or has any suggestions on how to resolve this recurring problem.
