Multi-State Sensor P100 - Toilet light

Simple, but effective use of the P100. I have tried using the FP 300 for this use, but it was too sensitive, picking up movement outside the toilet room.
We have a downstairs toilet (often called a downstairs cloakroom in the UK).
Simply placed the sensor at the top of the door, when the door is opened the sensor signals the Aqara switch, which is located outside the room and turns the light on. When the door is shut the light stays on for the occupant. When the door is opened again the light turns off. The light switch is in decoupled mode, so it can’t be turned on / off whilst someone is in the room. Why, well there are so many automations in the house using Aqara sensors to turn on lights etc., that the family keep forgetting to turn the light off. I have tried the magnetic sensors from other companies and Aqara and I often get a reading that says door is open when in fact it’s closed. Single piece with the P100, so I hope there won’t be this issue. Great product, now I need more….

Hello, thank you for your story about the P100.
I would recommend that you combine the P100 and FP300 sensors. This combination will ensure that you do not have false alarms when the lighting is turned on (off) and at the same time eliminate your problem with the high sensitivity of the FP300.
