Ever wake up at 2 AM wondering if someone forgot to arm the alarm? That was my life… until I let the Aqara U100 take over as the night shift guard.

Here’s my setup: If it’s between 12 AM and 6 AM, and the U100 lock goes from open to closed, my security system automatically arms itself. Why? Because I have an adult child who strolls in after midnight and never remembers to set the alarm. Now the moment the door locks, the system kicks in.

It’s been flawless, and honestly, it feels like having a smart doorman who never sleeps.

This might be my next automation as well. I set my alarm every night after I let the dog out. I sometimes forget to set it when I let her back in. This would be a simple Home Assistant automation.
