Hello,
since today our doorbell G4 (extern wired) is ringing randomly, although nobody had pressed the button nor is anybody present outside the door.
I already restarted the bell.
What could be the problem?
Best regards
Chris

@c_kamphaus Hello Chris,
I’m sorry to hear about the unexpected behavior of your G4 doorbell. Random ringing can be quite puzzling! Here are a few steps you might consider checking:
Wi-Fi Interference: Ensure that there are no Wi-Fi co-frequency interference sources nearby. Adjusting the position of your repeater or changing the Wi-Fi channel might help if interference is present.
PIR Sensitivity: It’s possible that the PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) is being falsely triggered. Factors like thermal disturbances can cause such issues. You might want to try lowering the sensitivity settings or temporarily switching to the Power Saving Mode where the PIR function is turned off.
Power Supply Check: Make sure the doorbell is securely connected to its power source. Sometimes, fluctuating power can cause the doorbell to behave erratically.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be best to reach out to Aqara’s customer service for more detailed troubleshooting. They’ve got the expertise to help you out further.
Feel free to share any developments or solutions you discover!
Warm regards,

So strange
Have you removed the device from the app and done a factory reset ?
I haven’t received any similar feedback yet, and I think it’s highly likely not a software issue (if so, it could be that you have set up some automation for indoor chime ringing). You can take a photo of the installation location of the doorbell for me. I would prefer to believe that the accidental contact was caused by the oxidation of the internal touch button due to water ingress or humid air flow. Please press the doorbell button dozens of times to remove the oxide when the power is disconnected. If the installation location of the doorbell is directly exposed to rainy areas, please try purchasing Aqara’s waterproof silicone cover specially designed for G4 doorbells, which can ensure a certain degree of frontal rainwater impact.
