My latest Aqara product is the FP300, and it’s also my first Aqara device. I added it directly to Google Home using Matter over Thread, without an Aqara hub.
The presence detection itself has been reliable, but Google Home’s automations have been less consistent. I’m now considering moving the wider setup to Home Assistant, where I hope to make better use of the FP300 for room-presence lighting and heating automations. I’m also looking into the best way to access its more advanced Aqara settings without disrupting the existing Matter connection.
I’d be interested to hear how others are using the FP300 with Home Assistant, particularly whether they kept it connected through Matter or paired it through an Aqara hub.
