My first Aqara device - the M2 hub

After getting into smart homes with hue I wanted to expand and add more sensors and fun automations. Then Aqara released the M2 hub and it couldn’t have come at a better time. A hub that could be wired with Ethernet that also acted as a home security alarm. So I also grabbed some Aqara door and window sensors for my front and back doors and also some water leak sensors for my aquariums. All these devices are still in use today and my Aqara ecosystem has grown immensely including roller drivers, buttons and cameras, and it all started in 2021 with the M2 hub!

@mat246 That’s awesome to hear about your Aqara journey starting with the M2 hub! It sounds like it was the perfect foundation for expanding your smart home—Ethernet stability and that built-in alarm feature must have been game-changers. The M2’s ability to connect Zigbee accessories and manage IR devices really makes it a versatile control center, which probably helped your ecosystem grow so smoothly . It’s great to see how it’s still going strong and supporting all those sensors, roller drivers, and cameras. Thanks so much for sharing your experience—would love to hear more about your favorite automations or any standout moments with your Aqara setup over the years
