Hey everyone!
I’m super excited to share my journey with Home Assistant and how I managed to get my Google Calendar integrated into my smart home setup. I’m still pretty new to this, so please bear with me as I figure things out!
The Challenge
I’ve been trying to set up my Home Assistant instance to display my Google Calendar events on my dashboard. I’ve successfully integrated my Google Calendar and even my trash pickup schedule, but when I tried to add them to the dashboard, it kept telling me the calendars were disabled. ![]()
The Solution
After some research and experimentation, I realized that the issue was with how I was configuring the dashboard. I had to ensure that the correct entities were selected and that the integration was properly set up. I also discovered that using different themes like Obsidian could help me see the sensors more clearly. ![]()

- Experiment with different themes to see how they display your sensors.
